Founded by late Sheikh Mohamed Rashid Abdullah Al Fannah Al Araimi in 1979, Al Siraj is one of Oman’s leading corporations with business interests not only in Oman, but across the world.
The story of Al Siraj perfectly aligns with the growth of Oman under its visionary leader His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. During the last three decades of its operations, it has been instrumental in helping build and develop Oman’s infrastructure in many key sectors of the economy and has established over 46 successful business entities in industries as diverse as construction, oil extraction and education.

The group is engaged in diverse activities like construction, oil drilling. manufacturing, higher education, tourism, food & beverage, trading, and technology etc.
Blessed with strong business acumen, he was one of the pioneers in setting up of several successful business ventures which were very instrumental in the infrastructural development of the Sultanate. Representing the emerging strength of private sector in the nation building process, (Late) Mr. Mohamed was involved as a founder, promoter and investor in a number of prestigious projects. He played a very crucial role in the development of Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG as the biggest Civil-electro-mechanical contractor of the Sultanate.
